 Welcome to Grade 3 I2 with Ms. Jeannie

Dear Parents and Families,

Welcome to the Grade 3 I2 English class at Xinmin Elementary School. It is my sincere pleasure and honor to be part of your child’s educational journey this year. Grade 3 is an exciting time of growth and development, and I look forward to working together with you to help your child build confidence, independence, and a genuine passion for learning English.

Throughout the year, our goal will be to develop English not only as a subject, but also as a meaningful tool for communication, learning, and exploration. Through the MyView Literacy and Skills Practice series, I will incorporate engaging lessons, interactive activities, reading, writing, vocabulary, and opportunities for students to use English in meaningful ways. My goal is to create a classroom environment where students are encouraged to participate, ask questions, make mistakes, and learn from those mistakes while developing the skills they need for continued academic success.

A Safe and Supportive Learning Environment

My classroom will be a safe, respectful, and supportive learning space where every student has an equal opportunity to learn and grow. Students will be encouraged to take responsibility for their learning while also showing respect for their classmates, teachers, classroom materials, and learning environment.

Clear expectations, routines, and consistent classroom structure will help students feel comfortable and secure. By creating a positive classroom community, I hope to help every child develop confidence and become a more independent learner.

Homework and Independent Learning

I will give simple homework assignments regularly to reinforce the skills and concepts taught during our daily lessons. Homework is intended to give students additional practice and strengthen their understanding of classroom learning.

I kindly ask that parents allow their child to complete homework as independently as possible. I need to see what each student can do on their own. This allows me to accurately assess their understanding, identify areas where additional support may be needed, and adjust the pace and focus of our lessons accordingly.

Parents are always welcome to encourage, remind, and support their child, but allowing students to take ownership of their assignments is an important part of developing responsibility and independence.

Communication and Partnership

Open communication between home and school is an important part of your child’s success. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to contact me through LINE: missjeannie or your child’s communication book.

I believe that teachers and parents are partners in a child’s education. By working together and maintaining open communication, we can better understand each child’s needs and provide the support they need to succeed.

Thank you for entrusting me with the opportunity to teach and support your child this year. I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, discovery, and many exciting experiences.

親愛的家長與家人們：

歡迎來到新民國小三年級 I2 英語班！

今年能夠成為孩子學習旅程中的一份子，我感到非常榮幸與開心。三年級是孩子成長與發展的重要階段，也是一個充滿學習與探索的時期。我期待能與各位家長一起合作，幫助孩子建立學習英文的信心、獨立性，以及真正喜愛學習英文的熱情。

在這一學年中，我們的目標不只是把英文當作一門學校課程，更希望讓孩子將英文發展成一項能夠實際運用於溝通、學習與探索的重要工具。

透過 MyView Literacy 及 Skills Practice 系列教材，學生將參與有趣且具互動性的課程與活動，培養閱讀、寫作、詞彙、理解及溝通能力。

我希望建立一個讓孩子感到自在的教室環境，鼓勵他們主動參與、勇於提問、勇敢犯錯，並從錯誤中學習。我希望每一位學生都能了解，學習需要時間與努力，而犯錯正是學習過程中自然且重要的一部分。

安全且充滿支持的學習環境

我的教室將會是一個安全、尊重且充滿支持的學習空間，讓每一位學生都擁有公平的機會學習與成長。

我會鼓勵學生為自己的學習負責，同時也學習尊重同學、老師、教室內的學習用品以及整體學習環境。

明確的課堂規範、固定的日常作息與有組織的教學環境，能幫助孩子感到安心、自信與穩定。

透過建立正向的班級學習氣氛，我希望幫助每一位孩子逐漸成為一個負責任、有自信，並且越來越獨立的學習者。

作業與自主學習

我們會定期安排簡單的英文作業，幫助學生複習並加強每天課堂中所學習的技能與概念。

作業的主要目的是提供孩子額外的練習機會，並幫助他們加深對課堂學習內容的理解。

我誠懇地希望家長能夠盡可能讓孩子獨立完成作業。

對我而言，了解每一位學生在沒有過多協助的情況下能夠做到什麼，是非常重要的。這能幫助我更準確地了解孩子的學習狀況、找出需要額外協助的地方，並適時調整課程內容與教學進度。

家長當然可以鼓勵、提醒及支持孩子完成作業。然而，也請盡量避免直接幫孩子完成、修改答案，或過度引導作業內容。

讓孩子對自己的學習與作業負起責任，是培養責任感、自信心及獨立能力非常重要的一部分。

親師溝通與合作

家庭與學校之間保持良好的溝通，是孩子成功學習的重要一環。
