Their dedication to learning, positive attitudes, and enthusiasm for improving their English skills have been truly encouraging as their teacher. I have witnessed wonderful progress in their ability to read, understand, and comprehend the stories we study in class. It is rewarding to see their confidence grow as they develop their English proficiency. As the I2 students are still young visual learners, I will continue to provide supportive learning materials, including picture aids and carefully prepared PowerPoint presentations and PDF review files, to reinforce vocabulary recognition, word meanings, and reading comprehension. Week 6 insert for parents   Anna's Surprise Story comprehension highlights Week 6 story words PDF for review As we enter Week 6 , we have another shortened week (as Friday, 10/09 is an official national holiday), leading with the Unit Test on Thursday, October 8th . With limited class time, it is important that I2 students continue to review and practice at home. The main focus will be on Week 6 vocabulary in context , the story “Anna’s Surprise,” and reading comprehension. Beginning this Monday, October 5th, I will review the story carefully with students using their My View Literacy book , along with a short story summary to help them prepare for the test. Week 5 PPT  Week 5 homework insert After a long, restful holiday weekend filled with family, friends, delicious BBQ, and yummy mooncake treats, I look forward to welcoming my I2 students back for another exciting week of learning, with lots of stories about their holiday festivities! In Week 5, the Grade 3 I2 students will be introduced to a new story, “Anna’s Surprise” (MyView Literacy, pages 191–211). This realistic fiction story follows a young girl named Anna as she carefully prepares a special surprise for someone she cares about. Through her thoughtful planning and kind actions, Anna discovers that even small gestures can bring others happiness. As we explore the story, students will practice their reading comprehension skills, build vocabulary, and learn about the importance of kindness, thoughtfulness, and caring for others. I understand that our I2 students have received many practice sheets using pictures, animations, and other visual aids to support their learning. Some visual support will also be provided on tomorrow’s quiz. Today, I will carefully review the material with the students and teach them to highlight key words and use context clues to better understand each sentence. For the spelling section, some letters may be provided as clues, and a word bank will be available when appropriate.
